Font - So I cooked dinner for the family today and my sister had a guest over. I was told to make whatever I wanted for the family (my parents, myself, my brother and my sister).

Font - The food I made was roast beef and mashed potatoes for a Sunday night. At dinner time, my sister brought a surprise guest over for dinner. I had no idea, and I also had no idea that she was a vegan.

Font - My sister ended up making a big fuss that I didn't make vegan food for her surprised guest that I met for the very first time. My parents were a little upset as well. They said," go and cook her some food she must be hungry".

Font - Having worked all day on work and feeling tired I refused. I said," I'm tired, I don't know any recipes, and I can't just rush a meal." The guest felt a little awkward and my family was a little mad at me. I concluded by saying that "I don't know how to make vegan dishes.

Font - I am tired from working 9 hours in that day, and if she's that hungry she can use Uber eats to order what she's comfortable with." AITA in this situation?

Font - I may be the asshole because I may have come off as non hospitable for not being able to serve the guest food.

Font - cmm2007 · 4h Asshole Enthusiast [5] NTA - how are you supposed to have something to make a vegan meal when you didn't know she was coming or that she was vegan, I mean short of nuking a bag of veggies if you even had them, what could you have done?

Font - 5thEmperorOfTheSea · 4h NTA your sister could've informed you beforehand, or made her friend something herself, or anyone else in the house could have as well. You already cooked for everyone, why should they expect you to make a whole other meal for someone you didn't plan on being there?

Font - SnooTomatoes6167 · 3h NTA I'd simply stop cooking for them all together, since they think they're entitled to demand labor from you after working 9hrs. Do they not know that when they invite guest over, it's their responsibility to host them?!
